New Horizon: ConvictionStoryThe year is 2417 when a government agency integral to world security is compromised, and turns renegade, taking much of its military power with it, civil war is inevitable. As the former government organization, Corridor 13, begins an aggressive bid to wipe out all other Wave Form Androids (often simply called Wafans) on the planet of New Horizon, the Wafans and their human Allies are forced to recruit progressively younger young humans and Wafans to fight for their survival. This is the story of a young Wafan who runs away to join the military against his father's wishes, and narrowly survives a car crash which kills almost all of his fellow squad members, stranding him deep in enemy territory, and his struggle to overcome his fear, and escape from the clutches of his enemy. As he struggles, the player learns more, and more of his backstory and the backstory of the world at large, as he unlocks new powers, and progresses through the enemy territory towards his ultimate goal of freedom. As time goes by, we learn of his tragic past, and estranged relationship with his father, and his own unknown connection to the civil war, as a mysterious observes his every move he makes on his way to freedom. Stage 1Ruined military base: A base nestled at the closing end of a tunnel, brownish green and yellow are primary color, and lighting is either red or white. There are many, many doors in this area, but many are blocked off by impassable rubble. There are dead and wounded soldiers laying everywhere in this level, one or more per screen. Many panels are destroyed, and there's debris everywhere. There are certain lighter colored piles of debris, which can be smashed by Hobart's axe, once he finds a dying soldier, he's taught how to focus his energy into the axe to use it to either finish off stunned enemies, or smash debris. Additionally certain enemies protected with shields would be invulnerable until stunned, and Hubart can smash their shield. The stage would be shaped roughly like a pitch fork, branching off into three directions at one point. The bottom of the pitch fork would be the beginning of the stage, and it'd be a small wasteland-type setting, where Hubart would awaken next to a smashed ground transport, the door to the base would be ripped off its hinges.
