New Horizon - The World
New Horizon's larger landmass is Youzem, followed by Neo Titania and Verdura. Youzem has four large settlements: the fortified Warhead Keep, the law-enforcing Avalon, the dry-around-the-edges Trapper Town and the tropical tourist resort Port of Narehl.
Neo Titania currently houses only a smattering of settlement on it's surface due to it's less hospitable environment.
The northern poles icecap, Perpetua Glacier, is quite developed and sustains several settlements. One large island can be found south from Aquilon's Reach, housing a settlement by the name New Chania. The southern pole's icecap is much smaller due to undersea volcano activity and the presence of the third large landmass, the vegetation-rich Verdura.
Crossing from an extremity of the Azuremar Plains on Youzem to the Heshmeloch Badlands in Neo Titania is a large network of islands - really just a network of tall mountain peaks not swallowed by the ocean - dubbed the 'Chain of Tears' from the jagged teardrop shape many of them have when viewed from orbit. The only settlement of significance there is the Union Hold and its industrial complex... though it mostly serves as a quiet retreat or a major port in between all four city states (Port of Narehl, Xanadu, Avalon and Aquilon) that all have naval concerns.
The planet has two great water masses. The northern one, dubbed Lansdale Ocean feels the icy bite of the looming Perpetua Glacier and so is not well suited to taking occasional dips in unless for specially outfitted divers. The southern ocean has been dubbed Cain's Ocean. While New Horizon is about roughly equal in landmass: water-mass-ratio, there are very little large water bodies on the landmasses; those most notable being the frigid, fog-shrouded Moon Lake or the irradiated Heshmeloch Sea.
On New Horizon there are two types of humanoid beings that roam the planet; Humans and Wafans (Wave Form Androids). The planet's current terran citizenry, either human or Wafan, is currently rated as being around 15 million.
Youzem
Youzem is the largest continent on the planet. In the north you see the largest mountains on the planet and in the south you see the jungles of Narehl stretch out from the west to the east.
Lonely Mesa
Lonely Mesa is the large middle part of the Youzem continent between the Vertigo Mountains in the north and Narehl in the south. The continent stretches out from east to west with Avalon and Warhead in the east and Trapper Town in the west.
Avalon
Avalon, the heart and soul of the emerging civilization of New Horizon. The Avalon Council is the faction responsible for arbitrating disputes with between the other seven factions. The Law Givers of New Horizon. Avalon is the worlds centralized government centre and home of the Vanguard Security Force. As such, it's considered a prime target for any possible insurrection.
The city is a massive circularly walled settlement, with much remaining wilderness between its central governmental complexes and the surrounding industrial complex. One can go from a crowded city center to manicured wilderness in a manner of minutes.
The city has a few principal regions; the Gouge, the Kinto, the Housing District, and the outer rim. The Gouge is the downtown area with the shops, restaurants and recreational activities. The Kinto is the district where the most industry is and it has the marketplace to get Wafan-grade weapons and armour. The Housing District is where most Wafans and humans live. The outer rim of Avalon contains a few hangars with transportation vehicles and hovercrafts. A protective wall surrounds the city to protect its citizen from the dangers beyond.
Trapper Town
The smallest faction of New Horizon. Trapper Town is a small, dusty town which shuns unnecessary technology, and its citizens, and live fairly simple lives compared to the more sophisticated settlements. Like a scene form the old west, nearly, the humans and Wafans who dwell live in an uneasy truce with the wild beasts which roam outside its flimsy walls.
Warhead
Warhead Keep is one of the factions of New Horizon. Although not so much a city, as an encampment, the camp of the former general, Fafner, is a training camp for the Vanguard Millitary. The sturdy fortress has stood off attacks of surprising violence.
Aruzemar Plains
Aruzemar Plains are as vast as the eye can see. A place of strategic importance during times of war, this land has seen its share of battles. Aruzemar Plains is a place filled with tall blue green Kitik grass that grows on the many corpses that has littered the ground during the years. The resources that can be found here are abundant to any scavenger, if they dared to scavenge into the hunting grounds of the Grim Stalkers, the planets Alpha Predators.
Moon Lake
Moon Lake, though frozen by proximity to the cave, many chilly tributaries run off from this lake and supply much of the water found elsewhere on the continent. Though no one has attempted to explore beneath the ice, it seems to only be only a few feet deep in places, and there's much speculation as to what lays beneath, perhaps even the origin of the bitter cold surrounding the region.
Vertigo Mountains
Tall and stately, Vertigo Mountain is the largest of New Horizons active volcano range, and spews thousands of tons of volcanic debris into the air every year. The highest peak of the mountain range is called Mt. Michal, after the first mountain-climber who explored it's deepest recesses.
The mountain of Michal is covered in perpetual snows up until a few thousand feet form the summit, where it blasts it hot ash into the atmosphere. The area around the mountain range is surrounded with small snowy forests.
Frozen Caves
The Frozen Caves are a seemingly endless frozen expanse of tunnels in an otherwise tropical area. The origin of its frigid cold is unknown, but what is known is that the caves are enormous and seismic analysis shows that at its greatest depths it connects to an enormous underground river, larger than any surface river of the planet.
Narehl
Narehl lies in the south part of Youzem, and stretches from the far east to the far west of the continent.
Port of Narehl
Port of Narehl, one of the factions of New Horizon, is the largest jungle city in Narehl. A sanctuary to the Narehlions and its tourists, it boosts the finest comfort and luxurious sweep that money could buy.
Vivid Jungles
The last surviving tropical jungle on the planet, it is fiercely protected not only by it's zealot environmentalist, heavily enforced laws but also extremely dangerous wildlife. The trees are gigantic, the tallest rising to the height of a kilometre above sea level. It is home not only to several medicinal properties but also one of the most prominent army in the world, the Narehl Rangers.
Alien Ruins
An obscure and isolated part of Vivid Jungle where plant life has been altered by the strange glowing green hue inscribed on the walls. The atmosphere around the ruins is different compared to the jungle. It is awfully silent and the light around the place seems to glow a tainted green despite the time of the day. Not every explorer seems to be able to find this place.
Neo Titania
Neo Titania is the second largest continent of New Horizon.
Xanadu
This faction represents the planets leading specialists in mass production of textiles. Most planetary staples come from Xanadu. Clothing, packaged foods, almost all the vehicles except submarines and space craft. Xanadu is the planets industrial centre.
Neo Titania
Neo Titania is two things, the name of the continent where Xanadu is located on, and a deserted colony near the large inland sea.
Heshmeloch Badlands
The Heshmeloch Badlands was named as such because of the toll the land takes on its inhabitants. Devastated by a nuclear holocaust and the radiation poisoning, no organic life remains alive here. At least no organic life remains unchanged here.
Perianth Peninsula
Off the east coast of Neo Titania, these lands are dark, dank and downright icky. It is home to dozen of creatures not all of which have been recorded in the New Horizon Bestiary in Brain Trust. Thou Alien Ruins have been discovered in the past, none has been able to find the ruins, an unexplained phenomenon that that has scientists baffled.
Aquilons Reach
Glacier Run City
Glacier Run City is the true gateway to Aquilon, located in the frozen forest nestled between the mountains, just north of the frozen island forest. Here one can find goods imported from Vanir, as well as transport equipment, medical attention/supplies and provisions. Locals are friendly, and the local industry is recreation dominated.
Perpetua Glacier
An enigmatic area with an ill reputation for hosting the most unsavoury terrorists not only on the Perpetua Glacier, but also, quite possibly, the world. Here, survival is the order of the day, and it must be paid for in blood.
Snow Waste
The Snow Waste, a barren frozen wasteland surrounding Perpetua Glacier. It is a natural barrier, as its sub-zero temperatures tend to freeze beings that aren’t warm enough to withstand its chilling winds. Snow Waste is the frozen tundra on the continental shelf just north and slightly west of New Chania.
New Chania
Seemingly a simple farming community, New Chania is actually on the cutting edge of biological studies, and Wafan software development. The New Chanian Conclave is one of the factions of New Horizon.
Tulgey Woods
The Tulgey Woods are an unknown fungal growth, which at its tallest is forty seven stories tall, and at it's widest a hundred miles a cross. If one can break through the bizarre, lattice like exterior of Iron Mold, the interior is dominated by a bizarre alien ecosystem.
The Missive Union
Union Hold
Union Hold isn't actually a city, it's an industrial complex located in the Chain of Tears.
Chain of Tears
A chain of several small islands spanning the coast of Cain Ocean, it is host to several unsavoury organization and mysterious ruins. Though most of these islands are charted there are still one or two islands that no explorer has ever set its foot on. Or rather haven’t returned from.
