Terraefauna
Terraefauna describe animals that live above the surface, for example in open terrain. This includes amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that live on land.

|
Grim Stalker
Appearance:
Grim Stalkers are large shaggy eyeless creatures that vaguely resemble bears. They are typically well over 5 meters tall (even 10 meters on some rare occasions), and just as wide. Their ursine limbs end in three massive claws. They have extremely powerful jaws and claws, easily capable of mauling a Wafan. The thick hide is more like ceramic then actual tissue. Certain body points exhibit small segments of chitinous material.
Eating habits:
Grim Stalkers are the absolute pinnacle of evolution on New Horizon. Though biological, they are nearly invulnerable to harm from even the most sophisticated weapons. As they grow in age, they become more and more durable as they devour Wafans, and incorporate the metallic compounds into their physical structure. Grim Stalkers can devour metallic compounds and plastics just as easily as human meat.
Living environment:
Grim Stalkers are found on many places around New Horizon, but mostly on Youzem and Neo Titania. They are often found roaming the open landscape, and only when they are asleep can they be found inside a cave. Grim Stalkers are extremely dangerous and should not to be taken lightly.

Ravager
Fauna: Terraefauna.
Region: Youzem, Neo Titania, Aquilons Reach, New Chania, Verdura (virtually all known Biomes except subterranean and oceanic).
Appearance:
Ravagers are not the largest predators, but pound for pound not a single living creature on the planet is deadlier. Resembling a blunt nosed crocodile bastard offspring with a lion, and a long salamander liked webbed tail, these pebbly skinned creatures are hairless except for their long main, which has many long hairs, which will often whip majestically in the wind, and add an air of menace to them. Their numerous teeth are just above and below their gumline, like for many earthly reptiles. They come in almost every conceivable color. They're typically the size of a large Terrestrial dog on average, but can be as small as a beagle.
Eating habits:
Ravagers are relentless predators, whether in a pack, or on their own. Their vicious jaws are capable of tearing flesh and bone, synthetic skin and servo from Human and Wafan alike. Their appetites are scarcely voracious, and often a Ravager will follow prey for days merely because they aren't yet hungry enough to eat them, only to strike when their prey has grown complacent. Smaller, juvenile Ravagers will often move from carcass to carcass likes crows, eating carrion. Because of this, a group of Ravagers is called a Murder of Ravagers.
Living environment:
Much like Terrestrial wolves and coyotes, Ravagers can learn to hunt in virtually any terrain.

Cluster Crab
Fauna: Terraefauna.
Region: Youzem, Neo Titania, Aquilons Reach, New Chania, Verdura (any coastal regions).
Appearance:
Large land bound arthropods, quite similar to earthly Coconut Crabs. Like Coconut Crabs, they're entirely land bound creatures, with a large fat metathorax, and an immensely powerful pair of pinchers. They're almost as large as a full grown human adult. They come in an almost infinite variety of colors, and markings.
Eating habits:
Social creatures, Cluster Crab females lay eggs, and drive away all their female offspring, keeping their male for an entourage to hunt for them, and drag prey to their underground lairs in cliff sides and caves. Cluster Crab males only leave their nest to find a mate after their mother has died. Cluster Crabs can eat vegetables, animal or mineral with equal facility, but prefer red meat, and find humans to be quite tasty, and are capable of ripping a Wafan apart to get at the more appealing bits with their immensely powerful claws.
Living environment:
Found throughout the coastal regions of the world.

Crypto Scarab
Appearance:
Crypto Scarabs are large creatures, reminiscent of Earthly Scarabs, with immensely powerful beaks, and massively powerful skewering forelegs which can puncture even a Wafan's thickest armor plating with some repetition. Slightly smaller than an adult human in mass, these creatures' primary colors are dark metallic, typically red, blue or purple, but green and orange aren't unheard of. Their carapaces are rimmed with a golden metallic chitin. Their round heads, non-compound eyes and flush jaws give them a disturbingly human like face when their mouths are closed, and can look truly gruesome when open. They can fly for short distances, and their wings tend to be iridescent metallic shades which contrast their shell coat, and are primarily used for mating purposes.
Eating habits:
Crypto Scarabs eat any prey they can bring down, but prefer native life or Humans when they can get them. They will only mate during dry seasons, killing their prey, and laying their eggs in the carcass after soiling them, even going so far as creating funeral mounds of stones to protect the eggs of their young when they awaken in the wet season, and burrow their way free by feeding. Their eggs have been observed to be viable for as long as a decade until moisture brings them to life, much like terrestrial brine shrimp.
Living environment:
Found throughout the dry arid regions of the world which have wet springs.

Horizon Shark
Appearance:
Horizon Sharks are land-living creatures. They look like a hybrid of a shark and a reptile, or more closely like a cross between a shark, armadillo and a snapping turtle. They are usually between 1 and 2 meters high and 3-6 meters long. They have large scales covering their whole body which are made out of a unique water resistant metal. They are blue-brown in color except for their tail and teeth which are white and pink. They also have very large claws which they use for digging holes.
Technically Horizon Sharks are predatory amphibians. They're very large and move quickly under the sand and dirt. They have three massive tentacles in their mouths which they use to drag you under the sand. Horizon Sharks have no eyes, and their head are like one massive beak. They prey on everything that walks on the ground. They lay their eggs in moist sand near rivers and oceans, and migrate into dryer land to get their moisture from prey, and deep subterranean moisture pockets.
Eating habits:
Horizon Sharks usually live and hunt in pairs. If the mate of an Horizon Shark dies then its partner will stay beside its mate until they starve to death. Since their appetite is so voracious, each Horizon Shark couple has a large territory. Other predators seldom share the same territory with them unless they are much larger in size and can thus protect themselves. Horizon Sharks spend most of their time on the open land or under the sand, and close to water, but they usually have their lair in a big hole under the water surface. They are day-living creatures that sleep during the night.
Living environment:
Horizon Sharks are terrifying predators that live only to eat, and they have animals, humans and Wafans on their menu. They do not stand a chance against a Grim Stalker, but they are extremely dangerous nonetheless.
Horizon Sharks consume their victims to 100%, with cloth, weapons, armor and equipment. They simply eat everything. Their powerful stomach acids are able to destroy almost anything from stone to steel. An Horizon Shark couple eats everything it can find in their territory. Once everything has been eaten they go into hibernation and sleep for years until their territory has been filled with new creatures. Horizon Sharks very seldom change territory.

Scorpin
Appearance:
Scorpins are night living creatures. They resemble Earthly scorpions but with several differences. Scorpins have a flat, non-dangerous tail, which it uses to hit the ground in order to send out a drum-like signal to other Scorpins. This tail is also known to be its weak spot. Scorpins have a 20-40 centimeter long body. The front part has two nasty pincers. Right behind those is two pair of legs. The back part of the body has another two pair of legs. The middle part of the body has two longer tail-like tentacles, one on each side, and both of them end with a poisonous sting. Scorpins have two eyes on the top of the head, and usually two to five pairs of eyes along the front corners of the head.
Most Scorpins reproduce sexually, and most species have male and female individuals. There are many different types of Scorpins, some are as large as 0,5 meter long, but most types are much smaller. Those that are large are usually the non-poisonous types, while the smaller ones are most dangerous. Scorpins come in different colors.
Eating habits:
Scorpins eat bugs and other small creatures.
Living environment:
Scopins live on open terrains.

Aquaefauna
Aquaefauna describe any type of animals that live below the water surface, such as the ocean, in rivers or lakes. Any type of fish, or animal that have gills, belong to this category of fauna.

River Dragon
Fauna: Aquaefauna.
Region: Youzem, Neo Titania, New Chania, Verdura (any tropical area and temperate areas with suitably large rivers).
Appearance:
River Dragons are enormous, armor plated reptiles known to wallow in the rivers of New Horizon like crocodiles. Their resemblance to earthly dragons, despite their lack of wings or breathe fires, has led River Dragons and their entire genus to be named after them. River Dragons are roughly fifteen to thirty feet in length, but exceptional forty foot specimens are not unheard of. Their bodies are long and narrow, but quite muscular. Their necks are short and stocky, with a large head housing a brain large and complex enough to rival most of the higher primates. Their skin is leather, with massive sub-dermal bone patches which act as internal armor, as well as having rows of long irregular spines on their backs. They have an organ on their head which when engorged in blood becomes erect, and acts as an open air passageway, and can be used like a snorkel so they can stay submerged indefinitely. It's normally invisible, laying flat on their heads in a deep crease at its back.
Eating habits:
River Dragons live in their rivers, often lurking underwater, and attack any large herd animals which approach its river. It takes only the weakest of the herd, leaving only the strongest to escape. It disposes of the carcasses by burying them so as not to give away its location.
Living environment:
Found throughout the river systems of New Horizon tropical and temperate regions, though less common in mountain regions where Grim Stalkers are more common.
